The top 5 hotels in Lagos, Nigeria
Hotels have become an integral part of our lives and society. Between 2013 and 2018, the occupancy rate of hotels increased by 49.8%. In 2018, it increased by 17.6% and ever since, it has only been increasing because, at one point or the other, people will have to leave home for somewhere far away for some business.
With over 502 registered hotels in Lagos state and an average occupancy rate of 85%, do you sometimes wonder which hotel stands out among the rest? I do too.
This is why I decided to find out the top 5 hotels in Lagos state.
After my studies, I came up with this list of the top 5 hotels in Lagos state.
I understand that some people base their comparison based on size, but I do not think that is ideal because a hotel with a large building and crappy customer service is a disaster in waiting, as they will be risking the customers’ safety and well-being. For example, a nonchalant customer care service may delay responding to an asthmatic customer during an attack or even to a customer having an allergic reaction, thereby endangering the person’s life.
Also, if its restaurant has a careless chef in the kitchen, the whole hotel staff and clients will also be at risk.
Or furthermore, imagine yourself in a hotel room with rats all over the place.
You will see that some things are way more important than the size of the room.
It is after this consideration that I decided that if we should compare, the size of the hotel, although important, should not be the core of our comparison.
The bone of contention should be how to treat guests.
- Is it how relaxed I am in their facilities?
- Do they serve good food?
- How safe am I in their environment?
- What of their facilities are working properly?
- Is there steady power? WiFi?
- What’s their gymnasium like?
This should be our focus, not the size or color of the building.
Now that we know what to look for, let us look into this list of the top five hotels in Lagos state.
